The AFK-50A is a 14L Mineral Activated Carbon Water Purifier manufactured by Ningbo Aofukang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. It works without electricity or plumbing: tap water poured into the upper chamber passes through a series of filter layers under gravity and collects in the lower 14‑litre container. The filtration media include ceramic, granular activated carbon, mineral balls, quartz sand, ion‑exchange resin, and Maifan stone. These materials reduce sediment, residual chlorine, organic compounds, and water hardness while releasing trace minerals such as calcium and magnesium. The housing is made from AS (body) and PP (lid). Production takes place in the company's ISO9001:2015‑certified Cixi facility.

Water entering the upper chamber passes through seven distinct filtration layers before reaching the lower reservoir. The first barrier is a ceramic hemisphere filter that traps sand, rust, and suspended particles large enough to be visible. Behind it sits a five‑stage mineralization cartridge containing granular activated carbon (for chlorine and odour reduction), mineral red and white balls (which release calcium and magnesium ions), quartz sand (fine‑particle screening), and ion‑exchange resin (to lower temporary hardness). The final stage is a Maifan stone box filled with natural Maifan stone granules. This section adjusts pH toward mildly alkaline and adds further trace elements. All water‑contact parts are made from food‑grade polymers that do not leach BPA or plasticizers.
Because the 14L Mineral Activated Carbon Water Purifier relies on gravity, water flows through the media without pumps or electrical power. Filtration is continuous: once the upper chamber is filled, water begins appearing in the lower tank within a few minutes. There is no waste‑water discharge—all input water becomes filtered output. The 14‑litre lower container holds enough drinking water for a family for a day. After filtering, the water typically shows reduced chlorine taste, lower turbidity, and a softer mouthfeel compared with the original tap water. Actual results depend on incoming water quality and how frequently the cartridges are replaced.
Before first use, each filter cartridge should be rinsed under running water to flush away any loose media dust. The upper chamber is then filled with tap water; no pre‑treatment is required. For ongoing use, the ceramic hemisphere should be scrubbed with a soft brush when its surface appears discoloured (typically every 2–4 weeks). The mineralization cartridge and Maifan stone box have a recommended service life of 3–6 months, depending on daily consumption volume and the sediment load of the incoming water. The AS body can be wiped with a damp cloth. When not in use for extended periods, the unit should be emptied and left to air‑dry in a ventilated spot away from direct sunlight.
Aofukang manufactures the AFK-50A under ISO9001:2015 procedures. Each production batch is sampled for material conformity and visual defects. The certifications shown below are held by the factory and can be presented for import clearance.
The Cixi factory covers 7,153 m², operates 6 assembly lines, and produces over 300,000 units annually across all product categories. In‑house injection moulding allows direct control over the AS and PP body components. Custom packaging and branding are available with a minimum order quantity.
A: Gravity filtration through all seven layers typically takes 10–15 minutes for a full upper chamber, though the first water appears in the lower tank within a few minutes. The speed depends on how recently the cartridges were cleaned and the sediment level of the incoming water.
A: The ceramic hemisphere can be cleaned and reused; it should be replaced when scrubbing no longer restores its original colour. The mineralization cartridge and Maifan stone box are recommended for replacement every 3–6 months. If the flow rate drops noticeably or the filtered water develops an off‑taste before that interval, earlier replacement may be needed.
A: The activated carbon and ion‑exchange resin reduce some heavy metals and temporary hardness. However, this is not an RO system—dissolved salts such as sodium chloride pass through. For water with high TDS or known heavy‑metal contamination, a reverse‑osmosis unit would be more appropriate.
A: Direct sunlight encourages algae growth inside transparent water containers. The AFK-50A should be kept in a shaded spot, such as a kitchen corner or a pantry shelf. If the only available space is sunny, the lower tank should be emptied and cleaned more frequently.
